Angela de la Cruz was born in Coruna, Spain and lives and works in London. Her paintings have an fabulosly creative. She slathers the canvas with layers of oil and resin and then the strechers are smashed and snapped, the paintings are crumpled, stomped on, punched, dragged, shed of its frame, left to flap patheically. In some cases the strecher is snapped in two or violently smashed, or the painting might be taken off its stretcher and put on a smaller one. The paintings are almost like drapery, how they are left to flop.
